Makaay scored as Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund

Dutch striker Roy Makaay and German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger scored as Bayern Munich kicked off the 44th Bundesliga by defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Friday.

According to the reporters, Bayern delighted a home crowd of 69,000 at Allianz Arena with aggressive play from the start. Makaay spun and hit the left post with a shot just 30 seconds in.

Both goals were low shots just inside the posts that beat Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller. Roy Makaay scored in the 24th minute and Schweinsteiger in the 55th.

Calgary-raised midfielder Owen Hargreaves played the full 90 minutes for Bayern Munich.
