Makaay's scoring power is back

Makaay had a very good performance and he's working hard to be one of the World Cup members for Netherlands. He signed a goal and an assist Saturday to lead Bayern Munich to a 3-1 win over MSV Duisburg that moved it nine points clear in the Championship.

Bayern Munich saw their lead down to three points eight days ago, reasserted control of the title race further because of second-place Hamburg's 4-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

``It's important that we have a cushion now that Hamburg has lost,'' coach Felix Magath admitted. ``There are still a few games to play, but the pressure is now less.''

The team played without midfielder Michael Ballack, nursing a minor injury, and struggled at first in front of 31,000 in Duisburg.
